Dear Architect, why accentuate an ugly building with coloured panels?

One can somewhat switch one's mind off to a drab carbuncle. But with these screeching colours, it's difficult to escape the visual clutter that is forced upon us.

Some architects have not a clue
On how to glorify a view
Perhaps they were struck by a comet
To give us buildings that make us vomit.

Struck by a cornet and went insane,
As ice cream seeped into his brain.
He tried to be so cosmopolitan,
But his buildings came out neapolitan.

Alas, I can so eas'ly confuse
Your 'm's and 'rn's if I fail to peruse.
You mean he was hit by an extraterrestial,
Which made his buildings extra-distressful.

yep!

He might have been struck by a saxophone,
Or hit on the head with a loud trombone.
But let's be thankful it wasn't a cello,
Or all his buildings would have been yellow.

Yellow bricks can be quite mellow
Remember Donovan, that musical fellow?
So colour has a part to play
And architects will get their way.

Bricks in subtle shades of honey
Make one's mood feel very sunny,
But bright canary seen on block
Is just a massive sensory shock.
