There used to be beautiful hollyhocks growing in front of Bedford House School, and then they mysteriously disappeared. I can only assume that some misguided council gardening team decided to "tidy" them up and put weedkiller down. So then the ground was laid to waste, with a motor-bike dumped there, till a team of volunteers turned it into a garden once more. But I much preferred the spontaneous display of hollyhocks to this rather formal row of pots.
