Bloody Boris, yes, but it was Red Ken that gave the green light, I believe?

You're right, Ken said o.k. to Canary Wharf, but it's Boris that has allowed their spread all over London. 240 new skyscrapers are in the pipeline to be built at present, with massive new clusters at Vauxhall, Shoreditch and the Elephant. Many break the rules governing affordable housing; these are meant to be 30% of new builds, but Boris is allowing the builders to get away with10% , and even these are well out of most Londoner's financial reach. Around 85% of all new built flats are sold abroad to people who rarely live here, people using London as a safe home for their spare cash with the added bonus that the housing price bubble ensures a better return for their money than any bank. And they're incredibly dull ugly buildings too. When the Walkie Talkie was built it was allowed to overhang public streets, in return for which there was meant to be a public park on top. This currently consists of about 20 palms in pots, a few shrubs and a lot of concrete, and you need to book a table at the restaurant to get up there. These bastards are getting away with anything they want under Boris, and you can bet he won't suffer financially in the long run.

It's all wrong that just one man, or a handful of councillors, can be allowed to decide the fate of our cities, blighting them with ugly modern architecture against the wishes of the populace. We're supposed to have a democracy in this country, but here in Oxford the planning committee does what it wants, regardless of any objections that people send in.

Can't you get rid of Boris?
