How sweet it is to smell the spring
After many months of winter
I'll fetch a vase for the flowers you bring
And ignore a rather large splinter.
The daffs are nearly over now,
And buttercups will soon be out.
I hope this will not cause a row,
But could you have a touch of gout?
The truth is out about my gout,
But please don't tell a soul,
I won't admit it if you shout
The news from the top of a pole.
Well no-one knows your face round here,
And let alone your feet,
So you can wander without fear,
And smell the flowers so sweet.
I bought a jacuzzi to ease the pain
And soaked my feet for some hours,
The gout can be such a terrible bane
But I'm cheered by the sight of your flowers.
How it must be for the idle rich
To soak in a tub for hours!
I hope you don't end up in a ditch,
Getting soaked from the April showers!
