Burg Ronneburg
In der Reihe der von den Staufischen Königen zu Beginn des 13. Jahrhunderts veranlassten Sicherungsburgen der „Kaiserlichen Wetterau“ nimmt die Ronneburg eine besondere Stellung ein. Im Jahre 1231 wird ein „Altar in castro Roneburg“ erwähnt. Demnach wurde die Burg vor 1231 erbaut. Sie wurde auf einem steilen Basaltsporn des südlichen Vogelsberges angelegt und diente dem Schutz der Handelsstraßen in der Mainebene und der Wetterau.
