Clearly I first didn't understood what the F60 means in the title. But now I will go and find some more about Gerhard Gundermann.

Yes, Sami - in the end it's a sad story:

this guy in his working life all day was a driver of such excavator in a cole mine in former GDR.
After working he made music and made such great poetic songs.
In the middle of the 90s the mine was closed (ALL mines where closed after falling the wall ... ) he lost his job and had to leave his excavator.
... 3 years later he suddenly died. Broken heart. In the age of 43.

On English Wikipedia article he wa just called "workaholic", but I did not notice anything said he actually lost that job. I guess it kind of broke his heart. I can well understand the work can become important part of life. In society we now live, we have nothing but short term jobs, and therefore easily no true attachment into what we do for a living.

Tolle Aufnahme in SW. Wer so ein Mammut beherrscht, muss wohl auch ein Poet sein.

... Gundermann hat tatsächlich Vollzeit auf'm Bagger im Lausitzer Braunkohlen-Tagebau gearbeitet. Abends dann hat er Musik gemacht.

Bis dann (nach Mauerfall) sein Bagger verschrottet wurde. Nur 3 Jahre nach Stillegung seiner Grube und vielen, vielen Konzerten ist er mit 43 einfach tot umgefallen. Das Herz ....
