Butterflies
These are some of the different species of butterflies I can see around my yard, plus a few from butterfly houses I've visited.
Pearl Crescent Butterfly

This is a Pearl Crescent butterfly. I always have lots of them in my yard every year.
Silver-Spotted Skipper Butterfly
This Silver-Spotted Skipper butterfly is one of about 70 different species of butterflies I can see around my yard. These particular butterflies are very inquisitive and will sit and look for me.
Peck's Skipper
This is a Peck's Skipper butterfly I photographed during the 2007 butterfly season. They are graceful little butterflies.

A male Zabulon Skipper butterfly chasing after a female Zabulon Skipper. All they needed was a bottle of champagne and a motel room.
Let's Get Ready To Rumble!
These two Red-Spotted Purple butterflies faced off with each other and then began to fight. Here you can see when one of them had the other one pinned to the mat.
I don't know what they were fighting over, but it was interesting to watch. I'd never seen this kind of behavior before.
Gemmed Satyr
These Gemmed Satyr butterflies are medium-sized and don't look like any other kind of butterflies in my area. They have a home in the corner of my backyard and hang out there every year.
Pseudopapillo takylawnornamenti
I saw this butterfly just past the back edge of my lawn, in my neighbor's front yard.
Butterfly House
This butterfly was at the Butterfly House in St. Louis, Missouri, so I'm fairly certain it's not a native of the United States.
Doris Longwing Butterfly
I saw this butterfly over at a butterfly house in St. Louis, Missouri, and I'm pretty sure it's a Doris Longwing. Apparently, it is primarily found from the Amazon River up to Central America.

I saw this butterfly over at a butterfly house in St. Louis, Missouri, so I'm not sure what kind it is. I'm pretty sure it's a Longwing butterfly and is probably from the tropics.
I did a little research and think it's a Sapho Longwing butterfly. (99% sure, that is.) If anybody can confirm this for me, I would appreciate it.

I'm not certain of the identification, but it does resemble a Postman Longwing, after looking at some images.
