The Buggs - The Beetle Beat

The Buggs - The Beetle Beat
This is NOT my favorite group - but it's close. Released in 1964, this record company tried to cash in on The Beatles phenomenon. It didn't work.

Oh wow. I've never seen or heard of this (nor Coronet Records). Crazy.

I'm sure it failed because their hair was too short - haha.

The funny thing is that the guys in the picture were not the actual guys in the band. They were just models for the album cover the record company used.

Wow, really? I mean I know that some groups had other people playing the music and they were fronts - but not just for the album covers as far as I know (thinking of The Monkees). That's crazy.

They're so good at copying! Thanks for sharing the link. I didn't think about the internet archive as having music. Another rabbit hole for me to go down - haha.

Oh, yes, they're great about having lots of good music on there. And as a matter of fact, I have some of my music on there as well. Here's a link to one of the Christmas Albums I've recorded:

What fun! I've earmarked it to listen again Christmas time.

I see that my husband is on there - a KBOO radio show with one of the musicians he works with.
