The Waltons

The Waltons
I saw this old truck parked nearby the area where a car show was taking place. I don't think it was entered, but I did think it was a great looking old truck. For some reason, it always reminded me of The Waltons tv show. I think it's a Ford Model A, from around a 1930 vintage. Photographed on September 7th, 1996, with my Minolta XD11.

The Walton's drove a 29 Model A truck. The divot in the door puzzles me though? Cool find and photo!

I always thought the Waltons had a 1927 Model T, but I haven't seen it in awhile.

Technically ... it is an AA and the model T version would have been a TT. I had to look it up ... for some reason I thought it was a little later model than the AA. I'm going to have to watch an episode now and see.

Oh, and I think that indent in the door was for when they had a spare tire mounted inside the front fender and it allowed the door to be opened all the way without the spare putting a dent into it.

That is a cool, old truck and I can see why it reminds you of The Waltons show too.
