Truetone Double Cutaway Electric Guitar

Truetone Double Cutaway Electric Guitar
This is an old guitar that used to belong to my Dad, which he bought at Western Auto in the mid-1960's. It was photographed here for a college photo class assignment in 1979. I still have this guitar.

I have an identical Truetone that I acquired as part of a trade in the 1990s when I owned a guitar shop. I was told mine was from the 1950s, but I've found very little information about these aside from the Western Auto connection. Do you still have yours?

Yes, I still do have it. A special memento from my late father. The neck rod broke a few years back and I need to have it replaced, but I'm hesitant because I'm afraid it might ruin the fretboard. I've never had a truss rod replaced, so I don't know what to expect.

I'm very sorry the truss rod broke, but it's cool that you have it. I'm trying to reconfirm the year of mine...I had a stroke last year that damaged my Eidetic total recall memory. There used to be a website that had the serial numbers and years, but I'm having difficulty finding it and no one has this exact model for sale right now online. Oh well, it's great to see another like mine. Enjoy it! Good luck with the repair! If you ever want to sell it let me know.
