Loch Carron
Images from the loch including Plockton
Slipway !
Slipway into Loch Carron, close to the harbour at Plockton, the land beyond the yellow buoy is the island of Eilean nan Gamhainn
Highlands.
Sunlight through a gap in trees highlights the ground foliage at a point where two watercourses meet
Flat Calm HFF
An image from Loch Carron and the beautiful village of Plockton,
Loch Carron is a sea loch on the west coast of Ross and Cromarty in the Scottish Highlands,
Another image in 16.9 format so a large view could be rewarding.
Walls and Ripples
A corner of the harbour Plockton which is a village in the Lochalsh, Wester Ross area of the Scottish Highlands, on the shores of Loch Carron. It faces east away from the prevailing winds; this, together with the North Atlantic Drift, gives it a mild climate despite the far-north latitude, allowing the Cordyline Australis palm to prosper. (Wikipedia)
The white blobs and squiggles in the water are reflected images of quayside houses,
Large for detail, HWW
Early Morning!
Loch Carron as the sun breaks through and catches the land below the cloud and across the loch at Ardancaskan ,
Captured from the beautiful village of Plockton,
A large view recommended if you have the time, have a great Friday and a nice weekend.
I will be away for a while so over the next 10 to 15 days my visits may be intermittent, but I will try and keep up with the groups and replies when possible.
Tide Wall
Another image from the beautiful village of Plocton, this time Loch Carron is at high water,
The white houses last appeared as squiggle and blob reflections in a previous post,
In 16.9 format so a large view would be appreciated
HWW, I will continue to catch up as when time and an internet connection permits
Loch Carron View
A Loch side garden in the beautiful village of Plockton provides the foreground for this 2019 archive image of Loch Carron,
It was one of the many Herring fishing ports in the area but is now a popular tourist village, In addition, television series and scenes from the Wicker man were filmed here
HBM and a good week,,,,,,,,,,,,,image quality may stand enlargement!
Loch Caron
Stromferry Slipway, There is no ferry any more, however when a rockfall closed the A890 near Strathcarron Tunnel this was used to ferry cars and foot passenger across from Strome until the rocks were stabilised many weeks later. The vessel used was the boat from the Glenelg ferry during it closed season.
Reflections of Loch Carron,
Loch Carron at Stromferry, Highland,
Large is better in my opinion
