My only radio @ 8/2013. Seen here in its portable setup. It uses 6 NiMh AA rechargeable cells and has a VHF Hiband rubber ducky antenna. The similar original antenna was sold to an operator in dire need more than 20 years ago.

Thanks for the comment and contact. I bought this one when I got my licence in the mid 80s. This appeared to be the only FM and SSB portable on the market then. It was a pleasant surprise to find it worked after around 12 years in the cupboard. I've not done much with ham till the last year or so because I was in / trying to get into techy employment. Now that I've been discarded by employers, due to ageism, I'm looking at building some HF gear and maybe 2M also. Are you still doing ham radio?

Yes... Most hams are after a bargain or a discount. One meets many hams when one operates a two-way radio shop. Well it was true back in the pre web era anyhow.
