Hey Bill

I was taking a photo of the Hey Bill refreshments trailers on Noosa Boardwalk when Bill waved to me. I went over and took a photo of him, and asked if he would like to be on the Internet. He said he had been on the Internet a few times. I mentioned my 100 strangers project and Bill said I should take a photo of his two friends there. One of them, Angie, said she had a story about Bill. In the 70s he was already involved in Noosa tourism by helping to keep the beaches clean, and she knew this because she had helped him at the time. Later he started selling oranges to locals and visitors. Hey Bill is a Noosa icon, having worked on the Noosa beaches for over 40 years. He now has a quad bike with two trailers offering Coffee, Spring Water, Drinks and All Things Nice. He says come on over any time and say 'Hey'. Many thanks Bill, it was a pleasure to meet you and your friends :-) You can read more about Hey Bill in this 2009 article.. www.sunshinecoastdaily.com.au/news/hey-bill-still-part-pa... You can see Bill's trailers reflected in his sunglasses :-) Stranger 21 (2013)

Brad

Photographer on the 2013 Worldwide Photo Walk in Mooloolaba, Queensland. I did not ask to take the portrait. He was on a lower boardwalk at the Mooloolaba Marina, looked up and gave me this great smile.

Blue faced Honeyeater

Seen from our verandah on the fruiting branch of a Golden Cane Palm. I have tried many times to photograph these amazing birds properly, but they were too quick for me. Lucky day. The Blue-faced Honeyeater is a large black, white and golden olive-green honeyeater with striking blue skin around the yellow to white eye. The crown, face and neck are black, with a narrow white band across the back of the neck. The upperparts and wings are a golden olive green, and the underparts are white, with a grey-black throat and upper breast. The blue facial skin is two-toned, with the lower half a brilliant cobalt blue. Juvenile birds are similar to the adults but the facial skin is yellow-green and the bib is a lighter grey. This honeyeater is noisy and gregarious, and is usually seen in pairs or small flocks. It is known as the Banana-bird in tropical areas, for its habit of feeding on banana fruit and flowers. birdsinbackyards.net/species/Entomyzon-cyanotis White in April, 27/30 April, 365 Colours.
