Kate Poole(the Bride in the photo), their daughter, was born at 80 New Road in Battersea on 4 December 1900, and baptised 7 February 1901 at St Andrew's Church in Battersea.
By 1910 the family had moved to Bishopstoke, Eastleigh, Southampton and in 1911 James John Poole was a Hammerman for the London South Western Railway Company.
He had previously served in the Army, awarded the Egypt Medal being "in the operations up the River Nile and in the vicinity of Suakin 1884-85". His name is listed on the medal roll.
