#3 -- mail-art file folder for polly -- outside front

What you see here is the front of the file folder, after it's been opened up and turned inside out. Sticking up above this would be the top portion of the inside back (#2). (My scanner wasn't big enough for the whole thing.)

To display portions of the 31 paper "quilts" I'd picked out, I created a 7x5 grid (7 across, 5 down) of small (1.5") squares--35 squares in all, with 4 extra squares for additional portions of 4 of the quilts. In some cases, such as the donut shape on the bright red background, my 1.5" square almost exactly fit an individual block of the quilt. In most, though, I cut the square in a location that I felt best displayed the beauty of the quilt. The border along the sides and across the top had spots to display even more sections from the same 31 quilts.
