A thing of beauty
Art in Bloom at Museum of Fine Arts in Boston is an annual three day exhibition in which about 70 floral arrangers, garden clubs and florists create spectacular floral arrangements that are inspired by a painting, fabric, scupture or other artwork in the museum's collection. They are then displayed beside the artwork that inspired them.

Here, the vase is covered in newspaper, which not only references the Sun newspaper, but captures the white of the ice. Black pussy willows capture the trees of the poster. The red roses and black leaves pick up the color of the skater and the angle of the arrangement captures her body position.

Arno
Every April, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts hosts Art in Bloom, a festival of flowers arranged by New England garden clubs and professional designers. The flower art is inspired by the many masterpieces found throughout the Museum.
This flower arrangement was inspired by the sculpture of Arno, the greyhound owned by Horatio Greenough (1805–1852), one of America's first major sculptors of marble.
