Corners to the sky

Corners to the sky
The Parthenon on the Acropolis in Athens, Greece was built between 447 and 438 BC. It was a temple dedicated to the goddess Athena and its name comes from Athena Parthenos, or virgin Athena.

The lighter coloration of the patches resulting from modern repairs are visible.

This is really good, Esther, with nice sharp detail and good composition. The color the stone is perfect against the blue of the sky. The picture is so good I didn't even notice at first the repair work, but as I focused on the details that became a more important element of the picture and makes the picture more than just an architectural detail shot. With the restoration work it tells a story and gives rise to all kinds of thoughts about preservation, history, and the passage of time. Superb work.
