Hallaig house and Dùn Caan
A walk to the abandoned settlement of Hallaig on the island of Raasay
Ruined houses and enclosures at Hallaig, abandoned as a result of the brutal Clearances in the early 19th century.
Hallaig, its field systems and enclosures occupy a raised undulating platform facing east, overlooking the Inner Sound and the Applecross peninsula of the mainland. In this photo the summit of Dùn Cann (444 m) overlooks the settlement.
