Great job with this. Love the ay you adjusted the colors and etc to replicate newspaper paper.

Thanks! :) First I ran the original photo through a "newsprint" filter in GIMP; then once the layout was done I exported the whole page back over to GIMP, and added a layer with the paper texture ("texture-paper-white-recycled", from a set of useful texture images I found a while ago).
