Folkestone “The Ledge” (#0270)

Folkestone “The Ledge” (#0270)
Along the waterfront in Folkestone, “The Ledge”, a protest sculpture. The black base is a reference to the fossil fuel dependency of modern times, the Inuit figure and the seal at the top a reminder of cultures that are lost due to the effects of western exploration, and the elevation of the sculpture is to suggest the rising sea levels from climate change.

I agree, seemed like too many mixed metaphors and a need for something other than a square column.

Yes, that's the worst part, the column. It's something a 7th-grader might design.
