Jacksonville Reflections - grammar school (#0311)

Not a particularly interesting shot, but there’s a story… This was the classroom for my 5th grade class, where I was pulled out of class for all sorts of evaluations due to concerns about my learning ability. I don’t know exactly what I was signaling to the teacher, but for some reason there was a decision to evaluate me for not paying attention. I had my first eye exam then, but didn’t get glasses until much later (when I was about 22). I had my first hearing test then also, but hearing didn’t keep me out of the military after high school. There were also some sort of other evaluations by my family doctor and someone else (maybe a psychologist), but those were never described to me.

Maybe my inattention was just because I didn’t believe the teacher after she told us that the Model T was called that because the engine was t-shaped!
