Crossing Guadalupe Dunes. The dunes are very wide and it is impressive crossing them. Unfortunately there is no legal way to stop and take a picture, so the only picture possible was through the windshield while driving at a slow speed.

Is that paved? They must be fairly stable dunes.

Yes. It's a remarkable drive of almost a mile across the dunes. But, the fact that it is paved seems to contradict how we think of dunes as constantly shifting.
