Great Salt Lake, UT (073)

Taken on my first cross country trip, in 1967. I was traveling with another serviceman who was taking his car from Newark, NJ to Monterey where we would be starting Air Force language school. I'm fairly certain this was taken at Saltair, which was a resort area west of Salt Lake City that had a history of boom and bust. The blue VW is the car we were driving, I remember it as being a 1961 with about 45 hp -- great fun for the long climbs in the west. (The interstate didn't exist yet in much of the west.)
