When I lived in the Castro in the 80's and 90's, Cliff's was the location that provided the solution for most anything. Keys copied, plungers for the bathroom, cloth for making curtains, everyday hardware and household supplies, and all the tools necessary for an S&M scene. Though the 'big box' stores (e.g., Home Depot) provide the same, none are as close or as convenient as Cliff's.
