Zzyzx, CA 0190a

Entrance to the Zzyzx area. The area, formerly known as Soda Springs, had been a stopping point in the desert for centuries. In the 40's a resort was built there but failed, it is now a desert research center run by the California State University in cooperation with the Mojave National Preserve.
