France 2011
Folder: Holidays abroad
Photos taken mostly in the Luberon region of Provence, France while we were staying in a cottage just outside Grambois for a week and a half in August/September 2011.
Cours Mirabeau, Aix en Provence
This is the street where you sit in a cafe people watching - which of course we did! In Les Deux Garcons no less.

The ochre hills of Roussillon
The hills at Roussillon are rich in Ochre minerals giving the amazing colour to the rocks you see here.
Ochre coloured Roussillon
The village has traditionally been coloured using the local ochre minerals.
Fountain in Gordes
This fountain features in the film "A Good Year" - but it refuses to give out autographs.
Gordes
Not the ideal lighting for this shot - the large shadow is created by the hill I was taking the photo from, but we were only there once (and late in the day), so you just do what you can!
Pont du Gard 1
The Pont du Gard is part of the 31 mile long aquaduct system connecting the water supply at Uzès to Nîmes. It was built around 19BC by the Romans.
The weather was surprisingly not so great the day we visited Pont du Gard. In fact we had to run for the car when we were leaving as a monster thunder storm was bearing down on us!
