The spire of Norwich Cathedral is visible on the right. Heading away from the camera is 36265 (BG12 YJX), a Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B9TL new in June 2012 initially assigned to First Games Transport to work at the 2012 Olympic Games. In the distance to the left of 36265 is The Erpingham Gate, built circa 1420, which is directly aligned with the west door of Norwich Cathedral.

Friday 11 January 2019 (0942) – Norwich Bus Station is managed by Go-Ahead owned Konectbus on behalf of the local authority. In this view taken from the upper deck of Konectbus 629 (SN65 OAJ), an Alexander Dennis Enviro400 new in September 2015, there are four more of the company’s vehicles. On the left is an unidentified Park and Ride vehicle of similar type to 629. The blue single decker is 426 (HF55 JZD), a former Blue Star Mercedes-Benz O 530 Citaro which dates from January 2006 transferred from the Go-South Coast subsidiary in Southampton. On the right is 635 (SN65 OAU), an Alexander Dennis Enviro400 new in September 2015, with branding for the Park and Ride related service 5 and its variants serving Yarmouth Road branded as ‘Series 5’. An unidentified Enviro400 stands in front of that bus. In front of the Citaro is what looks like a Sanders Coaches double decker.

Friday 11 January 2019 (1218) – Go-Ahead owned Konectbus absorbed fellow group owned Anglian Bus in November 2017. Scania OmniLink 439 (AN61 LAN), seen in St. Stephen’s Street, Norwich, remains in Anglian Bus livery with Konectbus fleetnames (Note the registration number is a play on Anglian).

Friday 11 January 2019 (1106) – Go-Ahead owned Konectbus 950 (AU07 KMM) seen in Tombland, Norwich working cross city service 50 from Eaton to Mousehold Heath. It is an Optare Solo that had been new to Anglian Bus in August 2007. Both Konectbus and Anglian Bus were subsequently acquired by the Go-Ahead Group with the latter being absorbed by the former. The restaurant on the corner of the street carries the name of Edith Cavell, the nurse who was a native of Swardeston near Norwich. She had lived in Belgium prior to World War I and is celebrated for nursing and tending soldiers from any side indiscriminately when war started. She helped numerous Allied soldiers escape German occupied Belgium for which she was sentenced and shot by a German firing squad in 1915. Edith is buried in the grounds of the nearby Norwich Cathedral.

Both Konectbus and Anglian Bus were subsequently acquired by the Go-Ahead Group with the latter being absorbed by the former. This was the 1042 cross city service 50A from Mousehold Heath to Cringleford.

Alongside is Sanders Coaches 112 (YN53 CFD), an East Lancs Omnidekka bodied Scania N93UD that was new to Nottingham City Transport (719) in October 2003. The driver of 629 (SN65 OAJ), an Alexander Dennis Enviro400 new in September 2015, taps in a code to gain access to the restricted road along the front of the main building. The airport is to the north of the city on a site originally established as a World War II air station named RAF Horsham St. Faith. One of the principal airlines serving Norwich for many years has been KLM that has daily flights from here to Schipol, Amsterdam which connect to the KLM global network.
