Left is 301 (GJF 301N), an MCW bodied Scania BR111DH new in March 1975. This model named the Metropolitan was a joint project between bodybuilder MCW and Scania. Right is 217 (217 AJF), a Park Royal bodied AEC Bridgemaster new in September 1961.

Saturday 27 July 2019 (1440) – Preserved former Leicester City Transport 301 (GJF 301N) seen in Charles Street when running a circular service as part of the Leicester Heritage Bus Running Day. It is an MCW bodied Scania BR111DH new in March 1975, a model named the Metropolitan which was a joint project between bodybuilder MCW and Scania. Despite being forty odd years old it somehow doesn’t look out of place in a 2019 cityscape.

Saturday 27 July 2019 (1138) – Leicester Heritage Bus Running Day First Leicester Citybus 66965 (KX05 MJF), a Wright Eclipse bodied Volvo B7RLE new in June 2005 to First Northampton. It carries a livery of the erstwhile City of Leicester Tramways Department. I rather liked the thoughtful touch of using a registration featuring the letters ‘JF’ which a series issued by the city under the old vehicle licensing system.

Saturday 27 July 2019 (1141) – Leicester Heritage Bus Running Day First Leicester Citybus 32646 (KP54 AZL), a Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TL new in February 2005, wearing a heritage livery depicted as Leicester City Transport 46.
