Bournemouth remains a busy and popular seaside resort in addition to being a university town. Local bus services are proved by RATP owned Yellow Buses (whose origins were as Bournemouth Corporation Transport) and Go-Ahead owned Go South Coast (operating as More Bus and UniBus). Traditionally excursion and tour coaches bring visitors from far and wide.

Wednesday 1 August 2018 (1019) – Yellow Buses (Bournemouth Transport Limited) is owned by the RATP Group, and had its origins as Bournemouth Corporation Transport. Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B5TL 196 (BF15 KFG), new in March 2015, seen on Castle Lane West operating service 3a to Poole.
The Homebase building in the background was once the Mallard Road garage of Bournemouth Corporation Transport. Constructed around 1950-1951 it is now a Grade II listed building and has a floor space of about 300 feet x 150 feet devoid of any interior support pillars. This large windows were once the garage doors set across the front of the building.

Wednesday 1 August 2018 (1027) – Yellow Buses (Bournemouth Transport Limited) is owned by the RATP Group, and had its origins as Bournemouth Corporation Transport. Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B9TL 125 (BX12 CVO) seen on Castle Lane West operating service 3a to Poole. It was new in May 2012 to Centrewest (London) as their VN36291. The company employs colour branding for its services but 125 wears a neutral silver for use on any service as required.

The roof is made from reinforced concrete featuring nine half circle cylindrical profiles. The floor space of about 300 feet x 150 feet is devoid of any interior support pillars. At the time of my visit it was occupied by the DIY retailer Homebase. The large floor to ceiling windows on the left were once the garage doors.

The roof is made from reinforced concrete featuring nine half circle cylindrical profiles. The floor space of about 300 feet x 150 feet is devoid of any interior support pillars. At the time of my visit it was occupied the DIY retailer Homebase as a stock clearance outlet – hence the inflatable Father Christmas on one of the hottest days of the year!

Sunday 29 July 2018 (1049) – This traditional former Bournemouth Corporation Transport bus was employed on a summer Sundays service linking Bournemouth town centre with Hengistbury Head and was seen at St. Peter’s roundabout as it headed into town to work the first trip of the day at 1100.
KEL 133 is a Leyland PD2/3 with Weymann bodywork new in June 1950 featuring the unusual two door/two staircase layout favoured by BCT.

Saturday 28 July 2018 (1248) – The yard at the Go South Coast (More Bus) premises in Swanage. The lilac fronted bus is 1629 (HF66 CEO) is a Unibus branded Alexander Dennis Enviro400 MMC new in September 2016. The other buses are Volvo B5TLs with MCV eVoSeti bodywork, the company operates three different formats of this body on the ‘Purbreck Breezer’ services - fully covered (1701-1703), partially covered (1704-1706) and convertible (1707-1712). From left to right in this view are 1702 (HJ16 HSX), 1712 (HF66 DSY), 1703 (HJ16 HSY) and 1701 (HJ16 HSV). 1702 was just moving out to take up the 1300 service 40 to Poole via Corfe Castle and Wareham on which we travelled to Corfe Castle.
