Colchester Borough Transport 46 (F246 MTW) at RAF Mildenhall (142-13A)

Colchester Borough Transport 46 (F246 MTW) was an all Leyland Olympian new in September 1988 fitted with higher backed seating for private hire work.

It carries advertising for its own private hire business under the name CBT Coachways as well as for holidays further afield with Titan Hi Tours. An Olympian advertising Titan!

The Colchester Borough Transport had various owners after being sold to British Bus in 1993. British Bus was sold to the Cowie Group in 1996 (Cowie was renamed Arriva in 1997). Then in 2004 Arriva Colchester was sold to Tellings-Golden Miller and placed under control of Burtons Coaches operating as Network Colchester. Vehicle exchanges occurred regularly between the latter two operators and, during my time working at Burtons circa 2006, I drove this bus on a number of occasions.
