Marshall bodied Leyland Tiger - Mar 1995 – (255-11)

March 1995 – The Ministry of Defence purchased Leyland Tigers with bodywork by different builders. This one carries a Marshall ‘Campaigner’ body.

In later years in times of heightened security personnel were carried in vehicles that looked every part a civilian vehicle with a civilian registration number but in times past many vehicles carried military series registrations.

This vehicle may have had once carried a military series registration and had now been ‘demobbed’ to civilian life or it could have carried civilian registration A430 FAL from new circa 1981/1982.

Different non-military looking colour schemes were used to make the vehicles less obvious when out and about.

I seem to recall it was at the Little Chef Service Area at the western end of the Royston by-pass, Hertfordshire.
