Stagecoach in Cambridge (Cambus) 10808 (SN66 WBE) at Great Wilbraham - 8 Aug 2020 (P1070362)
Saturday 8 August 2020 (0811) - For a number of years there has been a single early morning bus service starting from Stetchworth running to Cambridge with a homeward single journey back to Stetchworth around 1730. From time to time the morning journey (as service 17) formed one of my regular duties when I drove for Burtons Coaches.

When Stagecoach in Cambridge (Cambus) took over it continued as service 17 but at some stage the Stetchworth trips became adjuncts to the Citi 3 service extended to/from Fulbourn.

However, from Monday 27 July 2020 the Stetchworth trips were added to the Newmarket Road Park and Ride service PR2 and so one could now formally see a double decker in the dedicated livery for the latter officially ‘off piste’.

Monday to Friday the morning bus departs Stetchworth at 0641 travelling via Dullingham, Six Mile Bottom, Little Wilbraham, Great Wilbraham, Fulbourn and Teversham. After serving Teversham at 0720 the bus runs via Airport Way and the A1303 to then become the 0730 departure from the Newmarket Road Park and Ride site. On Saturdays the timings are one hour later.

Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400D MMC 10808 (SN66 WBE) is seen Great Wilbraham bound for Cambridge city centre. New in January 2017 it was one of the buses that before reaching Cambus had been temporarily assigned to Stagecoach Merseyside (Glenvale) to provide increased capacity during railway engineering works on the Merseyrail Wirral line.
