DSCF1731 Ipswich-Felixstowe Historic Vehicle Run 6 May 2018 - Entry F1
Sunday 6 May 2018 – Ipswich-Felixstowe Historic Vehicle Run

The smartly restored VG 5541 was new to the Norwich Omnibus Company in June 1933 as their number 43.

Control of NOC passed to the Eastern Counties Omnibus Company on 1 December 1933 and this bus passed to ECOC taking fleet number LG4 and later HLG4, the number it carries here.

A Bristol G that originally had a standard Weymann covered top body. It was converted to open top in 1950 to operate the seafront service in Felixstowe. Quite significant considering it was making a return to the resort today and it was seen here leaving Christchurch Park, Ipswich bound for Felixstoewe.

Restored by Roger Burdett of Coventry who had apparently driven the bus from Coventry to Ipswich the previous day with the journey taking him seven hours.
