TEC contractor - Garage Monserez 465118 (9962 P) in Mouscron/Moeskroen – 17 Sep 1997
Wednesday 17 September 1997 – Garage Monserez 465118 (9962 P), a Jonckheere Transit bodied Volvo B10B new in June 1995, seen near the railway/bus station in Mouscron/Moeskroen. The company was a contractor to TEC (Transport En Commune), the trading title of the Walloon Regional Transport Company (Société Régionale Wallonne du Transport).
The Belgian town of Mouscron/Moeskroen is adjacent to the border with France where bus and tram services in the Lille conurbation are administered by Transpole. This bus carries specific branding for service ‘MWR’ which links Mouscron/Moeskroen with the French towns of Wattrelos and Roubaix. The logos of both TEC and Transpole are carried.
In addition to operating its own bus fleet (and trams around the Charleroi area) there are also buses operated by contractors to TEC. Vehicles in its own fleet carry four digit fleet numbers with those of contractors carrying six digit fleet numbers – the first four digits relate to the TEC contract number with the final two digits indicating the fleet number of the particular operator.
