DSCF7379 First Scotland East 63246 (SN64 CPE) in Edinburgh - 8 May 2017
Monday 8 May 2017 (0846) – First Scotland East 63246 (SN64 CPE), a Wrightbus Streetlite DF new in December 2015, seen in Princes Street, Edinburgh. After working one of the service X21 commuter trips from Livingston etc it had turned round to work the 0830 service X99 to Livingston bus garage. Service X99 features just four westbound only timings operated by buses which had previously worked into Edinburgh on peak hour services that then returned back to base. The ‘Pioneering Spirit’ graphics celebrate James Young (1811-1883), a chemist born near Glasgow best known for his method of distilling paraffin from coal and shales, and Sir James Young Simpson (1811-1870), an obstretician born in Bathgate, who was the first to demonstrate the anaesthetic properties of chloroform on humans and helped to popularise the drug for use in medicine.
