DSCF6749 Reading Buses 220 (SN11 BAO) - 5 Apr 2017
Wednesday 5 April 2017 (1726) – Reading Buses 220 (SN11 BAO) seen in Kings Road when working the cross town Tilehurst-Wokingham Road service 17, a service that is descended from a key trolleybus route of the town’s system that closed in November 1968. 220 is an Alexander Dennis Enviro400 bodied Trident new in September 2011 and wears a rear end advert for eBay.

It is at the bus stop which bears the name of a once famous Reading business, Huntley and Palmers – the biscuit manufacturer. The company closed its Reading factory in the mid-1970s and the majority of the site, which was on the left, was redeveloped. However, one of the older pieces of the former H&P property, the red brick building, remains and is in residential use still bearing the company name.
