De Boeck (?) Belgium 9005 P - April 1964
April 1964 - I was very fortunate to be able to travel to Belgium on a school holiday when just approaching 14 years old. My Dad, a single parent, ever deserves my grateful thanks for giving me the experience – the cost was £35 if I remember correctly which must have been a struggle for him. This was one of the coaches on which we travelled during our stay although I cannot say much about it other than is was a German built Büssing. The registration plate was 9005 P. At this time Belgian buses and coaches also carried individual serial numbers prominently displayed above the windscreen. Not realising the worth in years to come, I didn’t record the name of the operator at the time nor where the photograph was taken. With uncertain memory and subsequent investigation I am led to suggest it was operated by Henri de Boeck, a company based in Brussels and now part of the Keolis Group.
