Saturday 18 June 2016 (1948) – Arriva North East 4645 (CX05 EOY) departing Richmond Market Place. A Scania OmniCity new to Arriva Merseyside in May 2005. This would be the 1914 service X26 from Scotton to Darlington. (Allocated to Darlington garage).

The Kings Head Hotel in the background is where we should have stayed overnight breaking our journey en route from Northumberland to East Anglia. We booked the accommodation on the 'Expedia' website. When we arrived the building was locked up and, as may be seen from the scaffolding, was mid-refurbishment. One of the site managers said the opening date was in a few days time although that didn't help our plight. Consequently we had to find an alternative place to stay which was a pub on the other side of the square.
