National Epress NXI 9006 at RAF Mildenhall Air Fete - 26 May 1990

National Epress NXI 9006 at RAF Mildenhall Air Fete - 26 May 1990
Saturday 26 May 1990 – In the spring of 1989 National Express began operating their first Plaxton Expressliners mounted on Volvo B10M chassis. The Expressliner was derived from the Plaxton Paramount 3500 body with design features more suitable to scheduled service operation. The first eight vehicles were registered NXI 9001-8 and entered service in March 1989 (NXI9001-2) and April 1989 (NXI 9003-8). NXI 9006 was normally used on the ‘Rapide Airlink’ service 825 operated from Manchester to Gatwick Airport via Manchester Airport, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Birmingham Airport, Coventry, Milton Keynes, Luton, Luton Airport and Heathrow Airport. However, today is was having a day off although retaining the ‘air’ connection as it seen at the annual Mildenhall Air Fete held at RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk.
