Onion chopped lengthwise into thin straws, ditto a raw potato, perhaps some pieces of cauliflower, and a handful of raw spinach. Add one teaspoon of cumin seeds, and grind up one teaspoon of coriander seeds, and one tsp of salt. Add half a chopped up fresh green chilli if you want to give them some bite. Add four tsbs of Gram flour, and two of lemon juice and or plain yoghurt. . Mix by hand thoroughly until it is a sticky mess! Heat to a high heat a litre of oil in a deep sided pan, and using a slotted spoon lower a small handful of the mixture into the hot oil for two or three minutes - until it looks brown . Retrieve and drain on paper towelling. Eat! Do not attempt to put more than three or four pakoras in the pan at once...Enjoy.
