Maybe if I just pull out this peg, everything will fall onto the grass
I was getting stuck into a healthy breakfast this morning, when who should pop up but Arthur Scargill, our Red squirrel. I thought he had become lunch for a sparrow hawk, so was particularly pleased to see him. I couldn't figure out at first what he was up to, chewing on the bottom peg which acts as a footrest for birds on the feeder. Obviously he had figured out that if you can succeed in pulling it out, the bottom drops out of the feeder, along with its entire contents, onto the grass! Not stupid, our Arthur. He needed a drink after all that exertion. But he wasn't brave enough to stay put for the private flying display put on by a pair of army Apaches, which must be participating in the low level flying which is going on, this week.
