The controversial quartz and ovoid boulder reconstructed facade at Newgrange
On excavation, the white quartz and ovoid boulders were found lying like a path, under the collapsed mound, but it was contended by the leading archaeologist, that it had been an impressive glittering wall facing the south-east rising sun, which had collapsed as the mound itself flowed downhill...
