TSC The Sunday Challenge, 18.02.18: Black and White (NO other colors in the photograph)

This fridge magnet is a souvenir from a trip to the United States in 1992. The visit to the "Amish Mennonite Information Center" is a lasting memory, especially the toilet I visited, of course it was without water, with newspaper sections and lime to sprinkle ;-).

Not in the house. Their basic belief is not to be directly connected to sinners and if you don't belong to the church ... you're a sinner. Power may run to the barn for the milking machines. The telephone may be on a pole at the end of the driveway. Their business web sites are usually run by someone else, but they have one. A lot of this is controlled by the elders of their church and can vary a lot between churches. Church districts are basically the distance a horse can travel in a day. The Amish are generally not opposed to technology ... they just don't believe in owning it. Some of the boys may even have motorcycles until they are old enough to join the church, but again that varies with the church.
