Het eerste optreden van de magische fontein van Montjuïc was op 19 mei 1929 tijdens de wereldtentoonstelling. De ontwerper Carles Buigas leverde zijn plannen een jaar voor de tentoonstelling in en velen dachten dat het project te ambitieus was om gerealiseerd te worden, laat staan op tijd af te zijn. Er werd opdracht gegeven aan meer dan 3000 mensen om aan het project te werken en minder dan 1 jaar later was de fontein een feit. De magische fontein is een spectaculair schouwspel van kleur, licht, beweging, muziek en water-acrobatiek - als u al deze elementen door elkaar mengt in precies de juiste verhoudingen, eindigt u met pure magie!

When the tulips are full in bloom, they will loss there flowers by 'kop'machines. After ‘kopping’ the flowers, the leaves will die and the bulbs will grow and grow... And after that, the bulbs will be harvested and stored in the cooling for a few months. Then they are replanted in October-November on another place! So they have to do this for three years and then are the bulbs ready for export!
