Kleiner Kohlweißling auf Gänsedistel - Small white butterfly on sow thistle
Diesen Kleinen Kohlweißling (Pieris rapae) fotografierte ich in diesem Sommer, aber noch im letzten November habe ich Exemplare dieser Schmetterlingsart auf einer Wiese beobachten können. Er ist in Europa und Nordafrika weit verbreitet. Er überwintert als Puppe. Die Raupen sind ein bedeutender Schädling in der Landwirtschaft und im Gemüseanbau.

This Small White (Pieris rapae) was photographed in summer, but I was still able to observe specimens of this butterfly species in a meadow last November. It is widespread in Europe and North Africa. It hibernates as a pupa. The caterpillars are a significant pest in agriculture and vegetable growing.
