Auf der Lauer ... On the lurk ...
... ist diese kaum 1 cm große Veränderliche Krabbenspinne (Misumena vatia) . Das Gemeine ist, dass bei dieser Spinnenart die Färbung des gesamten Körpers zwischen leuchtend gelb, gelbgrün und weiß variiert. Sie können zur Tarnung beim Beutefang ihre Körperfarbe aktiv wechseln! Das Individuum im Bild sitzt auf einer weißen Doldenblüte und wurde von mir nur durch Zufall entdeckt.

What is special about this spider species is that the colour of its entire body varies between bright yellow, yellow-green and white. They can actively change their body colour for camouflage when catching prey! The individual in the picture is sitting on a white umbel flower and was only discovered by me by chance.
