Viel zu früher Herbst - Much too early autumn
als welkten in den Himmeln ferne Gärten;
unendlich sanft in seinen Händen hält.

The intense heat and drought in July and August 2022 was a major stress for most plants. To protect themselves from further water lust, many trees, such as the chestnut trees in the picture and fruit trees in the gardens, shed their leaves: an early autumn begins. Let's hope that they survive and can sprout again next year.
One of my favorite poems is: Autumn by Rainer Maria Rilke (1902)
From: www.cingolani.com/1rilke_Herbst.html
The leaves fall, as from afar,
as if withered in heaven's remote gardens;
it is with reluctance that they fall.
And during the nights weighty earth falls
from all the stars into solitude.
All of us fall. This hand falls here.
And look at others: All of them fall.
But there is One, Who holds what falls
with infinite tenderness in His hands.
