At this time, the Common Blue Butterfly (Polyommatus icarus) flies quite frequently on meadows. In this species of Lycaenidae, the sexual dimorphism common in butterflies is found, i.e. males and females look very different. While males show a strong blue on the upper side, the female has an inconspicuous brown coloration on the upper side. The male butterfly in the picture is about to insert its proboscis into a flower to suck nectar.
