I have the same problem with translations from german... but as I understand more or less german I can get through to understand.
As everyone writes in his own langage and mine is one of the most spoken in the world I said to myself “why always use others langage?”
I said it was nice with the added noise, looking like an old photograph...

Some sentences are translated very nicely, other again are completely absurd.
I use quite often a translator with a vocabulary training program (leo.org). This helps me the language to understand better and to learn them at the same time.

Of course everybody should take the language which is familiar to him.

Die Körnung passt perfekt zum schwarzweiß, eine schöne Landschaft!

Die Margariten auf der hinteren Wiese standen dicht an dicht und durch die direkte Sonneneinstrahlung verschwammen die Kontraste der Blüten.
Das Feld sah stellenweise aus wie mit Schnee bedeckt.
