Abbotsford House, Borders, Scotland
Abbotsford was the home of one of Europe's greatest nineteenth authors, Sir Walter Scott. Its survival has been threatened in recent years by a lack of funds. Historic Scotland has worked miracles to keep the house open as have those who run it. Help them to keep the house open by visiting and try reading a little Walter Scott if you get the chance!
